It still amazes me to this day that I am a mother. I never thought I would be a mother and here I am, a mother to two and a half amazing children. My sweet little chihuahua will always be my number one. But my daughter and son will come very close. Every single day I say a silent prayer for my children and am so thankful I have them in my life. It seriously makes me so happy to see my son smile so big at me as he's toddling over to me and wants me to pick him up and when I do, he puts his arms around me and smiles at me. These little things are the moments I am trying to savor as much as I can. Soon enough he will be going to school, too, and I will be home alone with my chihuahua.
Today I dropped off my daughter at school. When her teacher saw her, my daughter pretty much pushed me away to go to her teacher. I had to ask her for a hug and kiss goodbye. It made me sad but very proud of her. I know she will miss me but I know being in school is helping her out. But I do love when I pick her up, and the moment her teacher opens the gate and she sees me and her arms are wide open and she runs into my open arms.
I have no laundry to do, I have a little bit of cleaning to do, but I'll save it for when the kids are both napping. Every time I try to do something, my son gets in my way. Tonight for dinner will be pasta and red sauce again. I love making this meal because it's quick and easy. We have all this extra sauce, so might as well use it all up, right?

Football time!
It is that time of the year again! This is the season of football! My husband and I look forward to this time of the year every single year. We have this package on our television where we get to watch every single game. We usually record the games we want to watch the night before and plan which games we want to watch. During the week we watch the games we recorded. I look forward to this time of the year to watch football and to make some yummy snacks.
I can't believe that I am all caught up on laundry. I need to clean up the house a bit, but I can easily do that while my daughter is in school. But it looks like I am all caught up on laundry for the first time in a long time!
It is time to start the day and get ready for some football!

Reflection time
Fourteen years ago today the world changed forever. History was being made. It all started when a plane crashed into the World Trade Center building. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I remember my dad calling me on my cell phone to tell me we are at war and that the world is never going to be the same again. I asked him what he was talking about and all he could manage to say was to tell me to watch the news. So I grabbed my glasses and turned the tv on. There in front of me was something I never expected to see. My heart still breaks just seeing the building on fire and then collapsing. I wished I could be there to help out with whatever I could.
Here we are today, fourteen years later. Our country is still going strong but nothing is the same it feels like. Please let us take a moment to give our loved ones an extra hug and kiss and always remind them that you love them. Life is so short, we never know what can happen. I will never ever forget 09.11.01.
P.S. Sorry for the sad topic, but this is just something I felt the need to share.

Attempting to climb down the mountain
Today I have so much laundry to do and finish! I managed to fold one load of laundry yesterday but I didn't put it away yet. But this morning while the kids were watching tv, I quickly put the clothes away and managed to do three loads of laundry. Now they are all ready to be folded and put away. I also have two more loads of laundry to do as well.
Laundry is the one chore that takes the longest to finish in my house. I wonder if I'm alone on this. I just have the hardest time putting clothes away, second thing that I have a hard time with is folding it. But tomorrow is Friday and that means I will probably not get any laundry done at all since my daughter doesn't have school tomorrow.
Yesterday was open house at her school. It was interesting to see/hear what she has been doing in school. But afterwards we had to stop at Target to get some more diapers and wipes for the boy. We also had to stop at Taco Bell for dinner. Needless to say, it was easy getting both kids to fall asleep last night. They both slept easy and they slept all night. I was the only one struggling to fall asleep. I have a cold that one of my kids gave me. I hope I don't pass it back to them because I think my daughter is about 95% better and my son is about 85% better. I just don't want to get either of them sick again.

School Picture Day and Open House
It is going to be a pretty busy day for my daughter today. Today is school picture day and it is also open house tonight. I am so glad today is picture day because it's a "free day" according to her school. A "free day" is a day where the students don't have to wear a uniform and they can wear what they want. I had a hard time deciding on what outfit to put her in, and then I was struggling doing her hair this morning.
There seriously has to be an easier way for me to do her hair. I usually do her hair in pigtails because it's easier (not really) and because it's cute. I thought about doing her hair in a low ponytail, but her teacher and teachers aid say she looks adorable in pigtails, so I'll just put pigtails in her hair every day she is in school. But I had her wearing a pink shirt because I like how it looks on her.
Tonight is open house at her school. It should be fun seeing her class room again and see where she sits and what they do and everything. I still can't get over the fact that she is in school already! I swear, time only flew this fast after I had kids. It never seemed to go this fast when I didn't have kids.
I have no idea what to make for dinner tonight. I was thinking of heating up the leftovers we have just so the refrigerator can be less cluttered. We shall see.

Busy, busy week
Sorry that I haven't posted on here in a week! It has been a very busy week for me. Last Wednesday my mother-in-law came in to visit us for a week. And by us, I mean the kids. I picked her up at the airport as my husband was working and the timing was perfect since I just dropped my daughter off at school I was able to head to the airport to pick her up.
We had a good week. We ate some good food, good snacks, and drank a little. Unfortunately, last week after my daughter got out of school one day I noticed her coughing a little. She usually doesn't cough much so I got a little concerned. Then when we got home, I noticed she was running her hand under her nose. Two days later she started having a runny nose and a slight cough. So I put the humidifer on for her when she went to sleep. Now today she seems as good as new.
But germs spread fast, I guess. Because now my son is sick. He has a cough and his runny nose isn't that bad. Tonight when he goes to bed I'll put the humidifer on in his room. Hopefully it goes away soon. I also have a runny nose though. Ugh, nasty yucky cold needs to go far, far away from my house!

Monthly card subscription
It's that time for my big, awesome news! I am going to be starting a monthly card subscription for anyone who is interested. It is open for anyone in the United States. Here is some information regarding this.
Every month, I am going to make and send five cards to you. It will be for any occasion, unless there is a specific one you are needing for that month. Every first Sunday of the month I will send out a message on my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/SerendipityKisses) to see if anyone is interested in the next month's card subscription. By the third Sunday of the month is when you will need to submit your payment for the next month's subscription. If you submit a payment late, you will get your subscription of cards for the following month. For example, if you send your payment late next month, instead of getting the subscription cards in October, you will be getting it in November. All cards will be mailed on the first Monday of every month. So, if you order now, you will have your cards in time for Thanksgiving!
The cost for the monthly card subscription is $10 a month. Every card will have their own envelope and will be in a clear cellophane bag to prevent bending. On the back of all my cards will be stamped "Handmade by Serendipity Kisses".
Starting next year I will be having a referral program set up for you to refer your family and/or friends and you will get an incentive of some sort for this. I will post more information regarding the referral program in the middle of October.
I know a lot of people love to receive mail and who wouldn't love receiving handmade cards every month? I hope you guys would be interested in this as I am excited to make them for you all. If you have any questions, please contact me at serendipitykisses@yahoo.com
