Friendship Day

In a few days it will be Friendship Day.  I made this card for that specific occasion.  It is one of my favorite cards I have made thus far.  I made 16 other cards last week as well.  I'll post a few of my favorite ones on here, but all of the seventeen cards I made last week are all on my Etsy page (www.etsy.com/shop/SerendipityKisses).

I still can't believe I managed to make, take pictures, and list all seventeen cards in just two weeks.  I probably would have finished it all faster if I was not married and did not have children either.  But knowing I did all that in a short period of time is inspiring me to want to make more cards to list and sell.  We'll see though.  My husband goes back to work soon and my daughter starts school at the end of next month.  With her at school for two and a half hours for four days a week, it gives me time to spend it alone with my son and to get some housework done.  But we'll see how things go when she starts school.

Yesterday was my birthday.  I can't believe it.  Another year and none the wiser I feel like.  But I have been truly blessed with good genes because I don't look my age at all.  However, I am starting to slowly feel my age creep up on me.  My husband took me to the new mall here that opened up a few months ago.  He bought me breakfast and lunch.  We did a lot of walking and I'm surprised that my daughter walked the whole distance and did not once want to be picked up.  However, the summer sun did ruin the fun because it was getting hotter and I didn't want the kids to get heat exhaustion.  My daughter took a thirty five minute nap in the car on the way home and my son fell asleep for ten minutes in the car.  Once we got home, she was wide awake and he went back to bed.

I don't understand how she was not so tired yesterday.  She ended up waking up in the middle of the night.  It is seriously annoying that she still wakes up in the middle of the night.  Last night my son woke up and I had a hard time getting him to go back to bed.  My husband was so exhausted last night that I let him sleep and I took care of the kids.

Summer is almost over.  School starts soon for my daughter.  Work starts soon for my husband.  Time went by too fast this summer.

Sorry for the delay

Howdy folks!  Sorry for the slight hiatus on the blogging world.  I have been super busy making more cards to add to my Etsy shop.  I am currently in the process of making 17 new cards to add to my shop soon.  I should have everything done by next Wednesday, I hope.  It is so tough trying to maintain my house, make sure my kids are okay, get meals made for my husband and kids, upkeep the laundry, cleaning, and everything else in between.  But I am hoping that I'll have my system going soon and everything will run smoothly in my household.

I actually did a very deep cleaning inside the toilet last weekend.  It was so gross and I am so happy that I found a cleaning product that really works!  I forget the name of it, but I can say that I only got it for $1.  That's right!  Just one freaking dollar got me this awesome cleaning product (for some reason, the name is eluding me right now) and it worked amazing stuff in my disgusting toilet.  I plan to buy more of this product before it gets taken off the shelf, if it ever does.  But I plan to buy a bunch of it so I never have to worry about a dirty toilet bowl again.

My husband redid the shower in the guest bathroom and our bathroom.  He added polished brass fixtures on everything.  It seriously looks so awesome!  Everything is all polished brass in the bathroom now.  He also added new towel hooks in our bathroom and it looks pretty fancy schmancy, too!  I swear, every time I step out of the shower I feel like I am at a day spa with how shiny everything is.  I don't know what my husband's next home improvement project will be, but I know without a shadow of a doubt that it will be awesome.

Next month my husband goes back to work.  Once he goes back to work, I'll need to set a new schedule for myself as far as cleaning, laundry, and cooking goes.  I did that back in January and it worked well.  Then the school year ended and my cleaning/cooking schedule just somehow dwindled down to nothing.  I became lazy and I even stopped menu planning.  It's horrible.  But once school starts again, I'll be able to start a schedule again.  Not to mention, my daughter will be going to school for two and a half hours a day for four days a week so I'll have a bit of time alone with my son to bond more with him.  It is seriously so tough trying to give each kid equal attention and love when one demands more of my attention than the other.  But I know I will do my best.

I am sad that summer is almost over.  I really enjoy having my husband home with me all of the time to help with the kids and so I can take a bit of a longer break to craft or clean without having to stop every five seconds to tend to something else.

Fun project

Today my plans are to finish folding laundry sometime.  But my favorite thing I am planning to do today is to make some handmade soap!  I am really excited to make them!  My only concern I have about making them is where am I going to store all the extra soap I have made.  But it should be fun regardless, I hope.

My other plans are to make some more cards now that my Etsy shop is somewhat looking obsolete with nothing in there.  But I have a few made already, I just need to work on posting it on my page now.

I diffused some Frankincense and Stress Away last night to help my daughter relax.  I can say it has helped her immensely.  By the time it was her bed time, she was all relaxed and ready to go to bed.  I have to say, being a distributor for these oils has been a blessing for me and my family.  It's helping my daughter a lot.  That's one of the reasons why I wanted to start this journey.

My big news!

I have great news to share!  I have decided to embark on a new journey and become a Distributor for Young Living Essential Oils.  I know, I never thought I would do this.  But I have decided to give this a try.  My main reason I wanted to try these oils was because I heard they help calm kids down.  I also wanted to use these oils when I start my new project that I will be working on soon.

I mailed off the 26 cards for my customer today as well.  I can't wait until they get it now!  It is always so exciting when someone orders from you.  Especially when it is in a large quantity.  I have to work on replenishing my Etsy shop this weekend.  I have so much to do this week.

Yesterday my daughter didn't take a nap at all.  I thought bed time would be easy and I thought that she would sleep all night.  I had a hard time falling asleep last night for some reason, but I finally managed to fall asleep when about thirty minutes later, she woke up.  Then after I got her back asleep and I went back to my bed, fifteen minutes later, she woke up again.  After the second time, I went back to sleep again, but two hours later she woke up and then she woke up a hour later.  I don't know how she is not tired with all this broken sleep, especially since she doesn't drink any coffee to help her wake up.  I am utterly exhausted every single day between her waking up in the middle of the night and my son waking up at least once in the middle of the night.  I can't wait until it gets easier.

Busy mommy

The last few days I have been pretty busy.  A few nights ago I checked my Etsy page one last time before I went to bed.  Imagine my surprise when I saw someone had bought something.  I was even more pleasantly surprised to find out that this individual bought six different cards of mine, and in a somewhat large quantity.  I was ecstatic to see that my Etsy shop has been somewhat depleted of cards.  I will need to replenish new cards this week.  This individual told me she was so happy she ran into my shop as she sends cards to the terminally ill.  I felt like I was in a Twilight Zone because just the other night before my husband and I were talking about me contacting hospitals, hospice, and the retirement homes to find out if I could make cards for their patients/residents to cheer them up.  I feel like this individual was sent to me to help me make this a reality.

Potty training has become quite the success.  Our floors seem to never have been this clean before as our daughter seems to aim everywhere but in the toilet sometimes.  Our next step is to get her to poop in the toilet.  It seems like she would rather poop in a diaper rather than in the toilet.  But I feel confident that she will get there soon.  This potty training thing seriously has me so exhausted every single day and every single night.

Last night for dinner I made Chicken Tacos.  But they were simple to make.  Place chicken in the crockpot, sprinkle taco seasoning on top, cover with chicken broth until chicken is under the liquid, and then cook for four hours on low setting.  I put some sour cream and shredded cheese in the tortilla and called it a day.  It was seriously so good though.  Tonight for dinner will leftovers with some buttered rice.  I have such a strong craving for buttered rice today, I don't know why but it's seriously calling to me.

Hope everyone has a great one!

Fourth of July

Yesterday was 4th of July.  So, we went to Red Robin for dinner with the kids.  The last time we were there was two years ago on 4th of July.  I remember we had our daughter try a lemon for the first time.  She didn't react the way most babies do when they try something sour.  She must have got that from me because I love sour things.  So, yesterday we had our son try a lemon and he reacted the same as she did.  Pretty funny.

Tonight I think we are going to have leftovers.  The other night I made Asian Sesame Chicken and a couple of nights before that I made Green Chili Chicken.  Both recipes are from the Frugal Girls, I believe.  I love how their recipes only require a few ingredients.

So, last night was the first night in two weeks our daughter slept in her room by herself.  I'm not happy because she woke up twice in a row.  After I got her to bed the first time, and just as I was about to lay down and go back to sleep, she woke up again.  She took a very short nap yesterday so I figured she'd sleep through the night.  But I guess between her not being in our room and the sounds of the fireworks going off, that could have woke her up.  I really hope she doesn't wake up in the middle of the night tonight.  I don't know what to do though.  I feel so sleep deprived lately.

I haven't made any cards lately either.  I have been slacking off so much this summer.  Shame on me.  I promise to take more pictures and craft more.. starting next week.

More potty training

My mother-in-law said once that potty training could take up to a whole year before they are fully potty trained.  I hope and pray it doesn't take that long with my daughter.  Right now she is good at going pee on the potty by herself.  She isn't pooping in her potty though.  That's our next step to work on her with.  After that, our next step is having her tell us she has to go so we can help her.  After that, we need to get her to go potty and poop on the adult potty.  Just in case we are ever in public and she can tell us she has to go potty and we can take her to the bathroom there and she won't feel so intimidated when she sees the adult potty.  It took us two and a half days of her finally peeing in her potty.  By the third day she went pee by herself.  I am hoping and praying getting her to poop in her potty will be easy, too.  But I doubt it.

Last night for dinner was supposed to be green chili chicken over rice.  But my husband was really hungry and wanted dinner earlier.  So I made chicken sandwiches with some home fries.  Today I will make the green chicken chili.  I feel like it has been forever since I posted any recipes or pictures of food.  It feels even more like forever that I last crafted anything.  I don't know why I haven't made anything really lately.  I made a thank you card for my father-in-law last week to say thank you for visiting us.  Like a bonehead that I am I forgot to take a picture of the card.  I really loved it, too.  It was a fancy gate fold card with hearts embossed on the panels.  I made a duplicate one but of a different color that I plan to sell on my etsy page for Valentine's day.  I know that's a long ways away, but I'm just starting early.
