Tasty Tuna Casserole
Here is what I made for dinner last night. It is the tuna casserole with a slight twist. I say that because I have never made tuna casserole like this before. Mine usually has some mayonnaise, frozen vegetables, and other stuff. My husband loves this dish because it reminds him of times him and his father, his father's friend, his brother, and his grandfather would all go upstate to hunt. His grandmother would make this dish and they would just heat it up and eat it. But this version I make doesn't have mozzerella in it but he said it still tastes pretty close to what his grandmother made. Here is the recipe.
Tasty Tuna Casserole
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
1 (12 oz.) can white water-packed solid tuna
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
4 oz. reduced-fat cream cheese, cubed
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
Cook macaroni according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large bowl combine the remaining ingredients. Drain macaroni; stir into tuna mixture. Transfer to a 2-quart baking dish coated with cooking spray. Cover and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until heated through.
Makes 4 servings.
